183 - IRONMAN Louisville - Joanna

Published: Nov. 11, 2018, 7:04 p.m.

b'In this continuation of my series of IRONMAN\\xa9 Louisville, I talk with one of my athletes, Joanna Gaines. We talk about a lot about the training, the race, the lead up, and what\\u2019s next. Some of the highlights include the black sand in transition, how doing different strokes for swim training is important, and even some things we could have done differently in training to help her have a better day. The swim at this race was shortened but this didn\\u2019t stop her from having a solid day. The rain and cold weather was not ideal but the clothing plan and preparation for the mental torture on race day was there. We share what she wore, why she picked things out she did, and some of the highs and lows on the race day. Thanks for sharing your journey Joanna, I look forward to talking with you soon!
