Pastor Gary: The Power of a Clear Conscience

Published: March 31, 2021, 3:40 a.m.

Welcome to episode #48!

This week, Pastor Gary Taitinger shares wisdom on living a life free from sin and overcoming temptation.

What we do and say eventually ends up on the evening news
Sin is insanity. We think we can live in a way opposite to God's design and live in God's blessing. Sin love darkness, obscurity, and anonymity. It's an illusion that has a way of being revealed. God's law is such that what is kept in darkness will always come out and even though it's for our good, God would rather us live with a clean conscience and deal with our sin upfront.

There's power in having a clear conscience
When considering sin, if we consider the impact on our conscience when having to deal with the consequences of that sin action later on, it can give you strength to live right in the moment. When was a time you had to admit failure in front of someone else? How did it make you feel when you had to clear your conscience after making a mistake? On the other hand, how would it feel to have a clear conscience, not weighed down by sin?

Engrafting scripture in our minds ignites initiatives of moral freedom
David says, "Your precepts became my counsellors." When we meditate on, and memorize, scripture, we are developing a commitment in our hearts to live right. We won't need to seek professional help as often, or ever, when we engraft scripture in our minds and hearts to keep us from falling into ruts and sin.
