Welcome to episode #182! This week, Matt and Braden answer some of your questions. This weeks questions focus around 1 Timothy 2:9-10, 1 Corinthians 7:1-9 and shame and identity.

If the biblical command is to you, it\'s to YOU.\\xa0

We need to be reading scripture within its context and understand who the audience is. If it is addressed to husbands/men, it is for husbands/men, if it\\u2019s addressed to wives/women, it is for wives/women. If it is addressed to you, you are responsible for your own behaviour and for what scripture is saying to you. You can\'t read into something that isn\'t for you. And demand something out of that.\\xa0

We don\\u2019t live in the deficit, because in the Lord we are satisfied.\\xa0

1 Corinthians 6 talks about the covenant relationship we have with the Lord. He is the one who should fulfil and satisfy us. Sexual sin is the only sin against our body. We need to steward our body and sex drive in a way that is healthy with the Lord and He can be the one to satisfy. Then we are operating out of an overflow with our spouse. We don\\u2019t need to look to them to fulfil our desires. We are already full and satisfied and we can love our spouse from that place.\\xa0

God can help us overcome shame and identity.\\xa0

Shame and identity are both affected by sexual addiction. We can\\u2019t overcome shame and identity on our own. We have to make choices to move closer to God who gives us our identity and speaks truth over us. Instead of shame, we get confidence in who he is and in who he says we are in him so we can understand the value and worth that we have. \\xa0
