\\xa0Beliefs are foundational to how we live
A belief is incredibly powerful in how it can influence the way we choose to live. When we have a wrong belief about something we can adopt that lie as truth and it becomes a guiding voice in our life. When we have a wrong belief about God, That can greatly effect our identity as well as our perspective on life overall. It can shape us into someone we had no intention of becoming and it can wrap us up or keep us stuck in harmful patterns or behaviours like porn use and masturbation.\\xa0

A belief is often linked to our past
In our formative years we all have encountered hurt and pain, and sometimes the moment of impact (when we were hurt) becomes the moment we adopted some harmful beliefs about self, others, or even God. If we want to break the hold a lie or belief has on us, we need to ask God to show us or reveal the moment(s) we were hurt and the lies we came to believe. Then we need to infuse truth into that moment as led by Jesus, and as we look to the Bible for understanding what truth really is. For instance if we came to believe the lie that we are worthless, we need to look to scripture that reveals our incredible worth and how God sees us as having immense value.\\xa0

What we believe about God matters!
How we view God is critical to our healing journey, as He is the only one that can heal our heart. We can practice all the different forms of behaviour modification out there, but that only deals with the surface level, and what we really need is inner healing. If we truly want to be free from porn, we need to see God correctly and understand His heart for us. When we get that right, we are open to receive and come to God with open arms.\\xa0
