Hey Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of Together, We're Gonna Find Our Way: An Unofficial Silver Spoons Podcast. Today, I covered the two part episode S3E16 and S3E17: Marry Me, Marry Me Parts 1 and 2 which aired on February 3 and February 10, 1985. In Part 1: Kate is concerned that her relationship with Edward is not moving forward, which is her subtle way of saying that she wants to get married and have a family. But Edward still reeling from his first marriage is hesitant. But when Dexter tells him he should marry her, he proposes and Kate accepts. When Ricky learns of this, he's not exactly thrilled. Which leads Edward to blurt that this is what Kate wants which she over hears. In Part 2: Following Kate's spat with Edward, she decides to leave town for awhile. Edward wanting to see her tracks her down to the cruise ship she's about to leave on. When she decides to go, Edward is heart broken. But she returns and agrees to marry him. I really enjoyed these episodes as a whole I rated it 5 out of 5 Trains. They gave me all the feels, from shock and surprise to frustration to happiness. I'm so happy Edward and Kate tied the knot. I also like that Kate made Edward work for their relationship after he told her he was only proposing because she was being offered another job and her biological clock was ticking. I really wished they hadn't pushed that issue of Kate wanting to have a baby when we know there is no payoff to that down the road of the show's run. We know Edward does not want another child, he's already got an almost 15 year old son and he's pushing 40 at this point. Granted I wouldn't mind a mini version of Kate or Edward running around the mansion, preferably a girl because that would be kinda fun to seem him tackle teenage daughter issues.
