Happy Holidays Tanner Fans, Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast. I'd like to welcome you to the first holiday episode in the Tis' The Season Series. Full House S2E9: Our Very First Christmas Show, which aired on December 16, 1988. The show's first Christmas episode has the Tanner Family including Joey along with Jesse's parents taking to the skies for a Tanner Family Reunion per Danny's request in Colorado on Christmas Eve. Surprise to all, Rebecca Donaldson (Danny's co-host of Wake-Up San Francisco and Jesse's love interest) is along for the flight only to be changing planes in Denver to spend time with her family in Nebraska. We also meet a grumpy airline passenger whose alter ego reveal later is a surprise to us all. This man might seem familiar if you watched the 70's and 80's hit show Dukes Of Hazzard. Yes, this man played Boss Hogg County. This guy was a character you loved to hate. The Tanners get all up in this guys kool-aid when apparently due to the airline's incompetence of booking seats he receives the same seat assignment of 3B as DJ and Danny? This was the 80's everyone. We were nowhere near the digital age we are now, where you can just have your boarding pass on your phone and can scan it as you board the plane. This would have been a dream for this guy(with today's technology airline procedere is a breeze requiring very little human interaction)who clearly appears to be repelled by the human race (maybe this was a clue to his otherworldly presence) or maybe it's the Tanners. From an overbooked seat, missing out on first class (which is offered to DJ and Stephanie)and toddler Michelle pulling off that man's toupee leading him to yell at her in embarrassment. Jesse and the family along with whole plane break out in song "The Lady From Ipanema". Good grief, this is the song that calms her down, granted we're a year or so out from her favorite song being "Teddy Bear" by Elvis Presley. Things go from bad to worse as the weather must have taken a page out of Mr. Grumpy Puss's playbook and decides to impact the Tanner's flight with a snowstorm leaving them grounded until morning at an airport in Colorado. Stephanie's whole problem throughout the episode is that she doesn't want to go on this trip because Santa knows she lives in San Fran and he won't be able to find her if she goes to Colorado. Apparently you're wrong Steph, because unbeknownst to all of you he's hitched a ride along with and will end up making all that is wrong with everyone, right again. Along with missing presents arriving on Christmas morning on the conveyor belt. The presents that Little Miss Snoopy Mc Snooperson DJ was oh so determined to find to the point of making her way through the dirty, cramped, spider infested crawl space in the attic to discover. Joey pulls A Miracle On 34th Street on Stephanie which goes horribly wrong as Michelle outs him which just confuses and upsets Stephanie more leading her to once again take refuge in her phone booth and harass the operator again for Santa's phone number. Jesse after majoring prodding from his grandbaby starved parents who desperately want a grandson (mind you I point they have two later on that they never see, if it's not onscreen it doesn't happen)shares his first kiss with Becky under the mistletoe. So much excitement and crazy times for the Tanners and family etc on this trip. I had so much fun covering this episode and I hope you enjoy listening to it, whether you're headed out to cut down a tree or Christmas shopping for loved ones and friends, while you're at home decorating your tree, hanging stocking or making Christmas cookies, take the Full House Podcast along, it's fun for the whole family. Join me next week as we jump four seasons ahead in the future to S6E12; A Very Tanner Christmas, which aired on December 15, 1992. Have a great holiday season everyone!
