Hey Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of Punky Power: An Unofficial Punky Brewster Podcast. To kick off 2021, I've decided to cover one of my favorite movie trilogies, the Sarah, Plain, and Tall trilogy, starting of course with the first movie Sarah, Plain and Tall, which was released as a TV Movie in 1991, starring Christopher Walken, Glenn Close, Lexi Randall and introducing Christopher Bell. Movie Synopsis: A single New England woman responds to an advertisement by a Midwestern widower in which he asks for a bride to help him raise his two children. My history with this movie, I read the book back in 4th Grade for school back in 1992 and fell in love with the characters. One day I was at my neighbor's house and saw they had the movie on tape, that was in 1993, at that time I had no idea that a movie had been made, but I fell in love with the movie too just as I had with the book. The story and the characters touched my heart. It wasn't until 2002 when I started working at the video store that I found the movie on the shelf in the Drama section and realized to my surprise there was a sequel, Skylark. I played those movies so much after 9pm at work when we could pop in "G" rated movies. A year later I discovered there was a third movie Winter's End that had been released in 1999, so I was perusing a Hallmark store back when they still sold Hallmark Movie VHS's and snagged a copy. Around 2010 or a little time later I was at the bookstore and discovered that the book series of Sarah, Plain and Tall had released two more books More Perfect Than The Moon and Grandfather's Dance. I will cover those two books in the series in a separate podcast episode once I've finished covering the two remaining movies in the series. I hope you all enjoy my review, I'll always cherish these movies and I'm happy to be able to share them with you. To EMAIL The Podcast Go To: punkypowerpbpodcast@gmail.com
