Josh Duntz is the CEO and founder of a breathwork company called\\xa0Stasis. Dayna McCarthy is a physician in the department of rehabilitation at Mount Sinai Hospital.\\n\\n\\n\\nDavid discusses the management of COVID in three phases:\\n\\n\\n\\n1.\\xa0\\xa0\\xa0\\xa0\\xa0\\xa0\\xa0Prehab \\u2013 get patients to feel control over their symptoms (i.e. breathwork)\\n\\n\\n\\n2.\\xa0\\xa0\\xa0\\xa0\\xa0\\xa0\\xa0Medical \\u2013 investigating red flags which may prevent a patient advancing with treatment\\n\\n\\n\\n3.\\xa0\\xa0\\xa0\\xa0\\xa0\\xa0\\xa0Physical Therapy \\u2013 a reconditioning program\\n\\n\\n\\nJosh uses breathwork to teach functional breathing and having control over one\\u2019s breath. He uses this treatment to help COVID patients become comfortable to perform physical activity.\\n\\n\\n\\nJosh uses the three pillars to explain breathwork:\\n\\n\\n\\n1.\\xa0\\xa0\\xa0\\xa0\\xa0\\xa0\\xa0Mechanics of breathing\\n\\n\\n\\n2.\\xa0\\xa0\\xa0\\xa0\\xa0\\xa0\\xa0Tidal volume \\u2013 measuring normal breathing\\n\\n\\n\\n3.\\xa0\\xa0\\xa0\\xa0\\xa0\\xa0\\xa0Respiration rate\\n\\n\\n\\nDayna explains her role in phase 2 of management \\u2013 checking if there is anything significant that needs to be ruled out or taken care of from a medical standpoint.\\n\\n\\n\\nJenna emphasizes that when patients reach phase 3, these patients are highly sensitive with quick symptom exacerbation.
