October 13 2016 - Forgiving Others

We know we are experiencing spiritual transformation when we can freely forgive others for their offenses against us. Forgiving another person for a wrong suffered is one of the most difficult things we can humanly do. Especially when the offense is significant and there is no expression of remorse or responsibility by the offender. The key to having a heart of forgiveness is realizing how much we have personally been forgiven. Every sin we commit is ultimately an offense against God. Each of us could honestly admit that our offenses against Him are innumerable. Yet, in Christ, God has forgiven us all our offenses. The Apostle Paul writes, "Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you" (Ephesians 4:32).
