November 12 2015 – Jesus' Message To John

John the Baptist sat in a dark dungeon cell waiting for his death sentence to be carried out. He didn't mind dying for a righteous cause, he just wanted to make sure that Jesus' identity and ministry were worth dying for. He sent two messengers to verify that Jesus really was "the One." Jesus responded by saying to them, "Go and tell John what you have seen and heard: the blind receive their sight, the lame walk, lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, the poor have good news preached to them” (Luke 7:22). The primary message of Jesus was that the Kingdom had come and he was King. His rule had broken afresh and authoritatively into human history and a demonstration of His Kingdom rule was the physical restoring (healing) of illnesses and maladies that were the result of living in a fallen world.
