S1 Ep245: Literary Loitering Takeover!

Published: Feb. 26, 2020, 6 p.m.

No, your eyes do not deceive you. This week our sister show Literary Loitering is taking over Cinema Eclectica, and to mark the occasion Rob, Graham, Andrew and Sarah are reviewing the latest smash blockbuster from the Lumiere brothers, Arrival of a Train at a Station.

Before that, they discuss some recent film news including the Hollywood Reporter's secret Oscar voter, a bizarrely (or brilliantly?) cast new version of Cinderella, and discover that Universal might just have cracked their monster universe. And by "cracked" we mean "broke".

Reviews include Netflix Tay doco Miss Americana, anime fantasy Maquia: When the Promised Flower Blooms, Celine Sciamma's trans coming-of-age drama Tomboy, and we review Harpoon again just because we can. There's also a quiz on the many weird ways movies have been retitled overseas.
