We’ve got your recap of episode one of the new Hulu series, Tell Me Lies, and it comes out of the gate HOT. Based on the novel by Carola Lovering, and adapted for television of Meaghan Oppenheimer, Tell Me Lies follows a tumultuous but intoxicating relationship as it unfolds over the course of 8 years, from college to young adulthood.

Episode one has Carinn peering with one eye open at her younger self, looking back on toxic relationships, while Kate wonders if maybe she just kept her emotions so far in check that she didn’t even realize what was happening inside herself.

The heat and connection between Lucy Albright (Grace Van Patten) and Stephen DeMarco (Jackson White) is palpable and we can’t wait to see the nuanced portrayal of obsession, passion and addictive love play out as the series continues because, as the show’s tagline reminds us, “You never forget your worst.”
