This is what we\'ve been waiting for!! The adaptation of Sally Rooney\'s bestselling novel Normal People makes it to Hulu! Carinn and Kate were up with the sun to watch and recap!

*** The show starts with character set up rather than the direct relationship between Marianne and Connell but at what cost? (5:25)

*** The first kiss is adorable and highlights their awkwardness as well as their undeniable chemistry. (13:34)

*** We knew Marianne’s brother Alan was a jerk, but is it too much too soon? Kate and Carinn offer two theories as to why we get creepy vibes from Alan. (20:05)

*** Episode Two ramps things up between Marianne and Connell. Through their honest and vulnerable exchanges, the two of them reveal their true natures, which Carinn and Kate each relate to in different ways. (31:50)

*** Carinn struggles with the adaptation of first sex scene (the unrealistic breaks, how it’s too fast and too slow, and the NOISES!), which was one of her favorite scenes in the book. Kate is shocked because she felt like every time these two have sex it’s an extension of their communication and is super hot on screen. (36:25)

*** Class issues feel different here, where her wealth makes her an outsider. Seeing this visually was an enhancement for us from the book in terms of explaining Marianne. (58:37)

*** Kate and Carinn debate Marianne and Connell’s dynamic and get personal. (1:03)

*** Kate loves the ghost house scene and feels like it is even better on screen, but Carinn doesn\'t remember it as being particularly remarkable in the book or the show. (1:07:30)

*** Carinn takes issue with the two songs in this episode coming from previous movie soundtracks -- \'Hide and Seek\' from The Last Kiss and \'Angeles\' from Oscar award winning Good Will Hunting. Did anyone else notice?? (1:15:18)

*** Carinn wants the show to be better than the book and it\'s not delivering on that implicit adaptation promise, but Kate is completely and totally swept away. We\'re both totally in on more though, and encourage everyone to keep watching the way we kept turning the pages of the book!
