b'I admit it – I’m a cat person. Shout out to my 18 year old Devon Rex Creamy – But I completely understand the special connection humans have with their canine companions. Photographer Kristen Kidd has captured this is in a beautiful book of photography called Woman’s Best Friend which celebrates the special relationship between women and their canine companions.

When we talk about innovation we often think tech and technology. But the B.PHL Festival this October 15-17 goes beyond this and brings together hundreds of to talk about innovation is all areas of our lives including arts and culture, science, business, social impact, health care, and more. I spoke to Michelle Histand from sponsor Independence Blue Cross about this three day event that seeks to build Philadelphia’s reputation as the most innovative city on the East Coast.

I’ve gotten into running only fairly recently – but one run I really enjoyed was Run for the Stripes. Not only because it takes place at the Philadelphia Zoo (fun!)– but it was started by a Jan Eisner, a woman who inspired me and who passed away after years of living with something called neuro endocrine tumor or NET - the same disease that took the lives of Aretha Franklin and Steve Jobs. I spoke with Andy Steinfeld Race Director and Lori Canzanese, Vice President, Run for the Stripes, Inc who is living with NET.
