b'More than 110 thousand men women and children are currently waiting for a lifesaving organ transplant, 20 die each day waiting. In this region more than 50000 people are on the waiting list. Gift of Life has coordinator more 50 thousand lifesaving organs for transplant and about a million life enhancing tissue transplants. I\'m a registered organ donor and have my wishes known in my living will and shared my wishes with my family. August is National Minority Donor Awareness Month and I recently spoke with Leslie Jean Marie, Gift Of Life Multicultural Outreach Coordinator about misconceptions around organ donation.

Kristen Mitchell was smart, beautiful, loved by friend and family - a recent graduate of St. Joseph\\u2019s University with a great new job she was on track to start. Her boyfriend was handsome a fellow student - they were a golden couple on the outside. Turns out that boyfriend was dangerously possessive and emotionally abusive - her friends were concerned but before they could set up an intervention - Kristen was brutally killed by her boyfriend. Her father Bill Mitchell has written a book about her life and death and the impact the tragedy had on family and friends and it\'s an important book about dating violence. The book is called \\u201cWhen Dating Hurts.\\u201d
