To mark Juneteenth in Ardmore there will be a 1st Lt. Paul T. Short Street Renaming Ceremony on June 19th, 2021 from 11 am to noon at Chestnut Ave. and Spring Ave. in Ardmore followed by a reception from 1-5 pm at Vernon Young Playground 124 Ardmore Avenue. The event honors 1st Lt. Short who was the first African American officer from the Mainline killed in the Vietnam War. I speak to community activists Wendell Holland, Tommy McDaniel and Regina Short.
