For decades the tobacco industry targeted the black community with menthol cigarettes and flavored cigars with a devasting impact on Black Health and lives. Health advocates are urging the FDA to deliver an historic victory for Black health by finalizing the plan to ban menthol cigarettes and flavored cigars. I speak to Carol McGruder, co-chair of the African American Tobacco Control Leadership Council (AATCLC) about the systematic and intentional marketing of menthol cigarettes to communities of color.
