b'Hope you’re staying warm and cozy through this wintery weather. You know February is heart month and in honor of it I’ve stepped up my exercise habits. I’d been working out twice a week – some cardio and weights but I’m still working off that holiday weight gain, so I’ve decided to get in exercise every day of the week. So far, I’ve driven up to Kelly drive, parked and got my 10 thousand steps before work. I admit it – it was so cold – but I bundled up and before too long I had to unzip my coat. Plus getting a little bit of nature into my day really helps with my overall sense of wellbeing. Now 10k steps is a lot – but here’s my challenge – a new study just came out that says just 10 minutes of exercise a day will help you live longer. So, if you can’t devote a lot of time to exercise – how about 10 minutes.

We’ll be talking about heart health with American Heart Association volunteer Scott Allen, who is defying his genetic risk for heart attack with diet and exercise.
