For decades – the reservoir at Strawberry Mansion was closed to public access. Through a unique partnership between the City, Outward Bound, Audubon PA and Strawberry Mansion CDC the site will reopen as an important wildlife sanctuary and world class educational center for environmental Cconversation and leadership development. There will be a ribbon cutting for the newly constructed Discovery Center at the reservoir on September 28th and Discovery Day with family focused activites on September 29th. Loraine Ballard Morrill spoke with Kim Glodec - Associate Program Director of Education and Outreach for Philadelphia Outward Bound, Carrie Barron - Director Communications for the Audubon PA and Tonetta Graham, Executive Director of Strawberry Mansion CDC about the Discovery Center and what it will mean to the community.
