Klezmer is the joyful music of celebration brought to the states by Yiddish-speaking Jewish immigrants from Eastern Europe, who arrived around the turn of the 20th century. It was music mostly played by men - but Loraine Ballard Morrill talks with World Class Klezmer musician Susan Watts about her upcoming concert SOUL SONGS: INSPIRING WOMEN OF KLEZMER which will feature new compositions, written and performed by three generations of women who bring contemporary meaning to this traditional Eastern European Jewish folk music form.
October 28th Zellerbach Theater.

Loraine Ballard Morrill chats with Pedro Ramos, President and CEO of the Philadelphia Fund about On the Table Philly, a forum designed to elevate civic conversation, foster new relationships and create a unifying experience. In 2017, over 300 conversations were held across the region to highlight local and regional issues at the community level. The project is hoping to exceed that when it reconvenes November 8, 2018 and provide micro grants for some of the ideas generated from the conversations.https://onthetablephl.org/
