Extending Your Performance Tools

Published: July 19, 2016, 2 p.m.

Every tool is extensible, from commercial closed source to freeware to open source. It simply becomes a question of how and where you hook into the system. This is why performance testing tools are built around general purpose computer languages. At the time a tool is designed and constructed it’s impossible to foresee all of the possible interfaces and applications it will be used to test. As a result, the ability to extend is critical capability of performance testing tools. This season of PerfBytes is formally supported by our sponsors Hewlett Packard Enterprise (www.hpe.com) and Flood.io (www.flood.io)! Thanks guys!
