This week, USA Today become the first major media outlet to refuse to publish the “official” photos sent out by Obama. Last week, over 35 news organizations, including ABC, CBS, CNN, Fox News, The Associated Press, The New York Times, and The Washington Post, sent a letter of formal protest to Obama, accusing the president of stifling journalistic standards.
Obama forbids the media to photograph, and instead issues pre-approved photos for public consumption.
The letter to the president reads, quote,
“As surely as if they were placing a hand over a journalist’s camera lens, officials in this administration are blocking the public from having an independent view of important functions of the Executive Branch of government. You are, in effect, replacing independent photojournalism with visual press releases.”
Just one day after the letter was penned, Obama released an “approved” photo featuring “approved” journalists photographing a staged scene. Skeptical media sources believe Obama was trying to say, “See, I give everybody access, what’s the problem?”

A New Mexico woman suffered for weeks with painful urination and swollen, burning genitals after a member of the badge class repeatedly sprayed mace in her vagina to “punish” her. The ACLU called it torture, and is suing the police.
The cops say suspected Marlene Tapia was hiding drugs, so they took her to a cage while they investigated the potential crime. At the jail, two armed bureaucrats made her strip naked. While nude, they then forced her to bend over at the waist so they could see her gentials. Police claimed that Marlene had a “plastic baggie” in her vagina, but rather than sending her to medical staff to get it removed, one of the armed government agents in the room began spraying mace inside Marlene. Police do not deny the claim.

Speaking of police, Earl Sampson has been stopped and questioned by Miami police 258 times in four years. He’s been searched more than 100 times. And arrested and jailed 56 times. Earl is only 28 years old, and he’s never been convicted of anything more serious than possession of marijuana. Police have arrested him 62 times for one offense: trespassing.
Almost every citation was issued at the same place: the Quickstop, a convenience store where Earl works. But how can he be trespassing when he works there?
It’s a question the store’s owner, Alex Saleh, has been asking for more than a year as he watched Earl, his other employees and his customers, day after day, being stopped and frisked by police. Most of them, like Earl, are poor and black. They get cited for minor infractions, sometimes as often as three times in the same day.
Saleh was so troubled by what he saw that he decided to install video cameras in his store. Not to protect himself from criminals, because he says he has never been robbed. He installed the cameras — 15 of them — he said, to protect him and his customers from police.
The videos show the cops aggressively searching people and arresting them for trespassing when they have permission to be on the premises. They conducted searches of Saleh’s business without search warrants or permission. They used excessive force on subjects who are clearly not resisting arrest and filing inaccurate police reports in connection with the arrests. Repeated phone messages and emails to Police were not returned.
We’re told that the police are there to protect us, fight criminals, and serve justice. In reality, the police protect themselves, fight peaceful people, and corrupt justice. Individuals are responsible for their actions, but police are above reproach. Instead of protesting or filing a complaint, have you considered refusing to pay them? Saleh and his attorney are filing a federal lawsuit.
