Her father\'s experience with cancer changed the course of her life, and she realized early on that if she wasn\\u2019t okay, her family couldn\\u2019t be okay. Melanie uses exercise, staying busy, and helping others as coping mechanisms, and never misses a chance to look life in the eye and give it 110%.
