She not only had a front row seat to history, she was a ground-breaking participant.\\xa0 And she is still breaking glass ceilings and making significant contributions to our world.\\xa0

Sonia Jarvis is a Yale-educated legal scholar who has blazed trails in courtrooms, in classrooms, in civil rights arenas and even basketball arenas.\\xa0 She was the first Black female varsity athlete at Stanford University. \\xa0 She spent years in the trenches fighting for voting rights and equality.\\xa0 Today she is a Distinguished Lecturer at Baruch College in New York City.\\xa0

Sonia and I met on "The Farm" as undergraduates "back in the day". \\xa0 We came together for this conversation to pay tribute to a fellow Stanford alum, Charles Ogletree.\\xa0 Charles is an internationally revered Harvard Law professor, civil rights advocate and mentor.\\xa0 Two of his most famous mentees are former President and First Lady, Barack and Michelle Obama.\\xa0 \\xa0\\xa0

The friendship between Sonia and Charles spanned myriad personal and professional endeavors, many of which made national and global headlines.\\xa0 From the Clarence Thomas hearings to the adoption of the South African Constitution, they shared a front row seat to history as active participants.\\xa0 The backstories are extraordinary.\\xa0 Lucky for us, Sonia treats us to a few as our conversation unfolds.
