This episode is about healing generally, and healing trauma more specifically, and it focuses on the importance of connecting to innate wisdom to allow healing to happen. My guest, Greg Wieting, is an expert on these topics, having helped thousands of clients to heal over the last 2 decades. He got into this level of advanced healing by intensive research in order to heal multiple issues in himself, including healing a severe curve in his spine that medical doctors said was impossible to correct. As a result of learning to heal himself, and one of his tools is reiki, he developed a holistic methodology called PRISMA, that incorporates a diverse set of somatic and mindfulness practices that allow tailoring to the unique needs of diverse clients with diverse health issues. I was extremely impressed by Greg's holistic understanding of body, mind, and spirit... he knows at a deep level that wholeness is the answer, and it comes from knowing that body, mind, and spirit must be addressed in a natural way dealing with root issues in an appropriate sequence because issues are layered. Healing relationships (to self and to others) is part of his process. But he emphasizes this: "When we tap into our innate wisdom, healing becomes simple." He adds that developing presence and self-awareness are key to rebuilding our connection to innate wisdom. And most impressively to me, he said that "Everything he does in healing is a spiritual practice." Wieting's websites are GregWieting.com and PrismaMethod.com.
