Spencer Merriweather III is the Mecklenburg County District Attorney, leading an office of over 200 attorneys and staff who prosecute state felonies and misdemeanor charges.\\xa0He served as an Assistant District Attorney in the felony division in Mecklenburg County for more than a decade. He previously led the District Attorney\\u2019s Office\'s Habitual Felon Prosecution Team and has prosecuted a variety of crimes ranging from homicide, robbery and sexual assault.
