In this episode of the Roald Dahl Retrospective, Patricia and Arun discuss about the 2020 Sky TV film Roald and Beatrix: The Tale of the Curious Mouse, which is based on the true events of a six year old Roald Dahl and a fifty-six year old Beatrix Potter, the writer behind the Peter Rabbit books. It\'s 1922 and Roald Dahl\'s father had recently died from pneumonia. Roald was told by his mother Sofie that he may need to attend boarding school, which he refuses. He runs away from home hoping to meet up with his idol Beatrix Potter. Meanwhile, Beatrix is stressed with her finishing her latest book since her mind is focused on buying land from the Lake District so that her sheep can have the space to roam around. She is also being bombarded by her publisher to change some things to make it friendlier for the children.

When the film premiered on Sky TV, it was critically acclaimed. However, similar to Roald Dahl\'s Esio Trot and Revolting Rhymes, it was released exclusively in the U.K. Is it a good film that respects both Roald Dahl and Beatrix Potter? Did Arun and Patricia like the film? Listen and find out.
