In the first episode of Casual Chats for 2022, Patricia and Arun Mehta from The Arun Mehta Show discuss about the 2022 Walt Disney animated film Encanto. In a small town in Colombia, the Madrigals live in a house where the members have gifts and abilities in thanks to a candle containing a miracle. One of the family members, a young teenage girl named Mirabel, doesn\'t have any magical powers. One day, she sees the house cracking and falling apart. The only one who can help her save the house is her fortune telling uncle Bruno who had since been ostracized by the family and had disappeared. Will Mirabel save the house before it\'s too late? 

The film has made over $228 million dollars in the box office and has won the Golden Globes for Best Animated Feature. It has been praised for its theme of family and intergenerational trauma, its animation, its representation of Colombian culture, and the music done by Lin-Manuel Miranda and Germaine Franco.
