In this episode of In Search of the Crystal Skull, Patricia and Arun conclude Hidden Gems Month with the 2008 comedy film Be Kind Rewind starring Jack Black and Mos Def. The film takes place in a rundown neighborhood in New Jersey where a VHS rental store is on the brink of shutting down, but is kept around due to the building being the birthplace of a jazz pianist named Fats Waller. The owner of the store, Mr. Fletcher, leaves his employee Mike in charge while he eyes on a new DVD rental store to add changes to his store to save his business. Things go wrong when Mike\'s conspiracy friend Jerry accidentally short circuits all the VHS tapes leaving them blank and they have to film all the movies using crude effects, an old camera, and themselves as the actors. The customers love it and request to Mike and Jerry to "swede" all their favorite films.

When the film first premiered, critics felt that it wasn\'t as compelling compared to writer and director Michel Gondry\'s previous films such as Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. However, indie film makers and fans had a strong connection to it reminding them of the love of the craft. It currently has a 65% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Did Patricia and Arun conclude Hidden Gem Month on a high note or did they end it on their least favorite film they saw this month?
