Ten Good Reasons to Teetotal

Most sunny days, I pull myself away from written projects that stimulate me intellectually to hike about 6 miles up and down a mountain. I enjoy listening to music or audiobooks during those challenging climbs so that each walk feels fresh. Often I am seeing ambitious runners and think to myself what a blessing it is that those who have always wanted to time to go from couch to marathon have been handed that opportunity. It's hard to forget during this time of quarantine, that every single moment is just as precious as it ever was. You may have more freedom in these months than you will ever have again the rest of your life to choose a meaningful pursuit.

Also on these walks, I pass recycle bin after recycle bin of empty alcohol bottles, and yesterday we noticed the liquor store was hopping. I'm seeing on my newsfeed and some private texts that some are hitting a wall emotionally because of all this isolation. My heart goes out to you and I'm praying that rather than numbing yourself with alcohol, etc. you'll instead treasure these slower, quieter moments.  Here is a list my daughter, husband and I each contributed to, of 100 meaningful ways to spend your time in case you are open to some ideas along these lines. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1CHHdG8EDIOCFsXK66laIcT3gj7gzofnl/view?usp=sharing
