December 22nd 1984 four young black men came down from the Bronx on a downtown number 2 train. They would approach an unassuming white man. Later shots would ring out and leave the young men critically injured. The gunman would jump the track and run to New England.

The gunman would later be identified as Bernhard Goetz. Was he a criminal, or was he a hero for the average New Yorker sick of crime. The crime would become one of the most polarizing cases in the city's history.
