As a deliberate photographer, I have to choose my settings to be able to compensate for the light situations that I find myself in, as well as to choose a style for my photograph. I need to learn my setting inside and out to be able to make the right judgment call. My photo-hack is to give yourself artificial-restraints. Pick an extreme setting and limit yourself to it so you can learn it inside and out. After you understand one setting, choose another. Learn to be deliberate.
