b'Pamela Adlon, now the star and executive producer of FX\'s critically acclaimed "Better Things," literally grew up on television. As a young actress she appeared on series such as "The Facts of Life" and "The Jeffersons." She remembers fondly that era\'s habit of doing cheesy "very special episodes," including the "Good Times" episode "The Evans Get Involved, Parts 1 and 2." The two-part episode, which aired in Season 5 on September 21, 1977, featured the introduction of Penny, played by Janet Jackson.
