In the summer of 1966, I was 15 years old and living in my hometown of Rochester New York. Every generation says \\u201coh, it was a different time back then.\\u201d  But for me it really was.

Unfortunately, our idyllic summer of swimming at the local swimming hole was shattered when the bodies of local teens George-Ann Formicola and Kathy Bernhard were found murdered and mutilated.

The transistor radio was the new thing and every teen had theirs tuned to WBBF to hear the latest tunes spun by Jessica Savitch, who would later go on to be the first woman ever to anchor a national news broadcast. We knew her as Honeybee.
