A Very Hal Holbrook Halloween

Published: Oct. 29, 2018, 4 a.m.

On this installment of MULTIMEDIOCRITY: The Broadcast!, Talley and Doofin (aka “the supinators”) go soup to nuts on all things Halloween… well, most things. Before the guys get to the hallowed holiday at hand, they manage to bounce between a litany of topics, including '80s bands and '80s covers, filmmakers like Alejandro Iñárritu and Tim Burton, and the latter director’s great early run. After a recap of Talley’s excursion to Telluride, Colorado, they do jump into some scary movie talk, discussing the new HALLOWEEN movie, as well as WHAT WE DO IN THE SHADOWS and AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON, both of which Doofin just watched for the first time.

Your trusty hosts are then joined by smart cookie and MULTIMEDIOCRITY veteran, mister Cameron Burns, for some horror-themed movie trivia, and to help them determine what should be the essential one or two films to watch for each of Talley’s flawed list of 31 scare-inducing sub-genres. What are the best horror flicks of this millennium? How broad or narrow should the horror genre be? What franchise has a screwier continuity than HALLOWEEN? These questions and more go mostly unanswered on episode 34!
