Episode 26: Welcome To Earth

Published: July 7, 2020, 7:10 a.m.

The Movies N Shit Independence Day Podcast Special begins with the greatest Presidential speech ever delivered, and it’s all downhill from there.  The boys are back, and after a brief discussion about quarantine life and the state of the world, they dive right in to what they’ve seen since last time (7:30)… spoiler alert, they’ve seen a lot of stuff.  So strap in for some quick reviews, recaps and welcomed digressions that include — bitching about JJ Abrams, the quality of drive-in movie theaters, and the future of stage shows available for streaming.  TV Talk (49:06) leads to Entertainment News (1:02:03) where notable losses, movie theater updates, Michael Keaton’s return as the Dark Knight, and the many talents of Jamie Foxx are all discussed.  The episode wraps up with Hidden Gems (1:21:21) and Guess That Rotten Tomato Score - Patriot Edition (1:24:40), where Patrick unapologetically rides for the supremely underrated 1991 classic, The Rocketeer.

The Producers would like to apologize for notable errors including but not limited to:
Patrick’s assertions that Will Smith starred in Eurovision and Joel Schumacher directed Roger Moore in A View to a Kill, as well as Kelly’s stubborn refusal to acknowledge the brilliance of Peter Jackson’s adaptation of Tolkien’s masterwork, The Lord of the Rings, and the highly anticipated Amazon series soon to carry on those brilliant fantasy tales.
