b'In honor of President\\u2019s Day, take an adventure\\ninto the Hall of Presidents! The Hall of Presidents\\xa0is an\\xa0attraction\\xa0located in\\xa0Liberty Square\\xa0at the\\xa0Magic Kingdom\\xa0in the\\xa0Walt Disney World\\nResort. The attraction is a\\xa0multi-media\\xa0presentation\\xa0and stage show featuring\\xa0Audio-Animatronic\\xa0figures of all 43\\xa0individual\\xa0U.S. Presidents. It opened on October 1, 1971, along with the\\nrest of the Magic Kingdom and Walt Disney World. It is housed in a building\\nthat resembles Philadelphia\'s\\xa0Independence Hall. Walt Disney\\xa0had originally wanted an attraction similar to the "Hall of\\nPresidents" called\\xa0One Nation Under God\\xa0at\\xa0Disneyland Park\\xa0at the\\xa0Disneyland Resort\\xa0in\\xa0Anaheim,\\xa0California, USA. After Disneyland had become a\\nhuge success, Disney proposed an extension of\\xa0Main Street, U.S.A.\\xa0called Liberty Street at Edison Square. Disney originally wanted wax\\nfigures of all the U.S. Presidents, and later decided to try to make them\\nanimated figures, but the technology that he wanted for this attraction did not\\nexist or fully meet his desire. Disney decided to collaborate with his fellow\\xa0Imagineers\\xa0of\\xa0WED Enterprises\\xa0to try to make the first Audio-Animatronic figure in a human form. It\\nwould be one of Disney\'s heroes: Abraham Lincoln, 16th President of the United States. The show\\nbegins with a film presentation of the history of the\\xa0United States of America. It shows that the American way was\\nforged through conflict and many long years of struggle. The main idea of the\\nfilm is that the United States is not free from improvements. It is certain\\nchanges that prove necessary over the years. The film also celebrates the\\nliberties of the American people, the\\xa0United States\\nConstitution, and the progress of America in its early years. With\\nthe help of paintings from the era, the\\xa0Philadelphia Convention\\xa0is reenacted. The film\\nthen segues to the time of\\xa0Abraham Lincoln, when secession was a real threat. These\\npaintings and vocal performances are similar, if not identical, to the same\\nsegment in the "Great Moments with Mr.\\nLincoln" presentation. The\\xa0American Civil War\\xa0portion of the presentation is based\\non the "Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln" presentation, including a\\nnearly identical script, although, to fit the much bigger screen of the theater,\\nrather than the much smaller one at Disneyland, new paintings were required to\\nfill the screen. The Constitution survived the conflict, making America a truly\\nunified nation.A huge era\\nof progress occurred after the war. All the while, the Constitution remained\\nthe tent pole of the country. The film then turns toward the future, saying\\nthat the leaders of tomorrow have to be committed to the Constitution and its\\nprinciples, if the country is to survive. A Saturn V rocket takes off, and the\\nscreens then lift up, and the U.S. Presidents take center stage. After the\\ncurtain lifts, all (then) 36 presidents are called, in chronological order. (At\\nthe time the attraction opened in 1971, the roll call ended with Richard M. Nixon. Over time, each newly elected President\\nwould have an Audio-Animatronic version of himself added to the show in their\\nlikeness.)Each one\\nresponds to their name with a nod, wave, or other sign of acknowledgment.\\nDuring the presentation, the Presidents fidget, talk to each other, and look\\naround; all the while making the illusion seem quite real. Abraham Lincoln then\\nstands and takes center stage. His speech is remarkably similar to the speech\\nhe gave in "Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln". After his speech, the\\nshow concludes with a rendition of "The Battle Hymn of the\\nRepublic," (the same rendition used in "Great Moments with\\nMr. Lincoln"). However, in 2009, the Battle Hymn of the Republic was\\nreplaced with America the Beautiful, but it reverted to "The Battle Hymn\\nof the Republic" in 2011.'
