In the meantime please enjoy a\\npre-recording of Disney's Aladdin: A Musical Spectacular.\\xa0Disney's\\nAladdin: A Musical Spectacular\\xa0was\\na musical show with music by\\xa0Alan Menken\\xa0and lyrics by\\xa0Howard Ashman\\xa0and\\xa0Tim Rice, at\\xa0Disney California\\nAdventure. Inspired by\\xa0Disney's\\xa01992 animated film,\\nthe show premiered on January 16, 2003, and played inside the\\xa0Hyperion Theater\\xa0in\\xa0Hollywood Land. The venue is located next to the\\xa0Twilight Zone Tower of\\nTerror.In\\nSeptember 2015, it was announced that the show's final day of operation would\\nbe January 10, 2016. The show was then closed on January 11, to be replaced by\\na\\xa0Frozen-inspired\\nmusical stage show. The 45 minute production took place in the 2,000 seat\\nHyperion Theater,\\xa0located at the end of Hollywood Blvd.The\\nproduction was a\\xa0Broadway-type show. Many\\nof the classic scenes and songs from the movie were re-created on stage and\\nsome of the action spilled out into the aisles, like Prince Ali's arrival in\\nAgrabah on elephant back.\\xa0Alan Menken\\xa0composed and wrote lyrics for a new song for\\nthe production, called\\xa0To Be Free. While much of the show was\\nscripted, the dialogue of the Genie constantly changed to reflect current\\nevents in popular culture and the news. The music was orchestrated and arranged\\nby\\xa0Timothy Williams (composer)\\xa0and\\nproduced by Bruce Healey, and Audio By The Bay (Paul Freeman, Bob Wackerman).In\\nspring 2010 it was initially announced that\\xa0Disney's Aladdin: A Musical\\nSpectacular\\xa0would close and be replaced by\\xa0Toy Story: The Musical,\\nsimilar to the version on the\\xa0Disney Cruise Line.\\nHowever, later that year it announced that the plans were cancelled and that\\nthe\\xa0Aladdin\\xa0musical would remain for the time being. In\\nSeptember 2015 it was announced that the show's final day of operation would be\\nJanuary 10, 2016.
