b'What can we learn from spring? Join me as we muse on the poem, \\u201cIn Perpetual Spring,\\u201d BY AMY GERSTLER\\nGardens are also good places\\nto sulk. You pass beds of\\nspiky voodoo lilies \\nand trip over the roots \\nof a sweet gum tree, \\nin search of medieval \\nplants whose leaves, \\nwhen they drop off \\nturn into birds\\nif they fall on land,\\nand colored carp if they \\nplop into water.\\n\\nSuddenly the archetypal \\nhuman desire for peace \\nwith every other species \\nwells up in you. The lion \\nand the lamb cuddling up. \\nThe snake and the snail, kissing.\\nEven the prick of the thistle, \\nqueen of the weeds, revives \\nyour secret belief\\nin perpetual spring,\\nyour faith that for every hurt \\nthere is a leaf to cure it.'
