These two things are completely different, yet they're often mistaken for one another. Fat loss is a part of weight loss, but weight loss can be lost in so many more ways than just fat. When you step on the scale and see the number moving, that could be water weight through glycogen or sodium, it could be fat loss, muscle loss, bloat weight, a result of alcohol intake or menstrual cycles and so on.
