How Not to Gain Weight on Vacation

Do You Need to “Diet” While on Vacation?

In a nutshell, “No.” To elaborate, “No, not really.” First of all, I don’t “diet.” I have gotten to know my body and how it responds to my eating patterns. There’s no surprise that I left for the vacation at 182 pounds and returned at 187 pounds. We were gone for five days and four nights (I love that movie). Did I really gain 5 pounds in five days? Na...no way! There’s really no way for the body to add 5 pounds of pure fat in 5 days. But, I did put on some weight during my vacation; that’s a given.

I went on vacation for 5 days. I ate burgers, French fries, and drank beer and did not gain weight. How?

This past week we went on Vacation. We traveled up to the north end of our state to do these things:

1. Visit brewers and try out different beers (more on that at the end).
2. Get into the trees (we live in a high desert valley)
3. Visit a place we may move to one day.
4. Do some Photography
5. RIDE A BICYCLE 100 MILES!
