EP 025: What is Emotional Intelligence

Published: Sept. 10, 2020, 12:13 p.m.

Emotional intelligence refers to the ability to identify and manage one’s own emotions, as well as the emotions of others.   Emotional intelligence is generally said to include at least three skills: emotional awareness, or the ability to identify and name one’s own emotions; the ability to harness those emotions and apply them to tasks like thinking and problem solving; and the ability to manage emotions, which includes both regulating one’s own emotions when necessary and helping others to do the same.  It also requires a healthy aspect of our social awareness and the social skills we can use as it relates to productivity.   Take the EQ assessment here: https://www.ihhp.com/free-eq-quiz/ ____________________________________________________________________   Email: juan@lifefocuscenternj.org   Website: https://www.juangarciaenterprises.com   Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/juan_a_garcia_   Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Juan-Garcia-Enterprises-640059186622038/?modal=admin_todo_tour   Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/juangarciaenterprises --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/juan-garcia119/support
