20. Are you BEATING YOURSELF UP for not being PERFECT?!

I can\\u2019t wait for you to dive into today\\u2019s episode where we chat about how we can better serve ourselves by changing how we talk to ourselves and how we can\\u2019t expect to always be \\u201cperfect\\u201d! I\\u2019m a (recovering) perfectionist so this topic is super close to home & something I\\u2019m constantly working on.

Here\\u2019s what you can expect!

  • What I\\u2019ve been working on: Aiming to eat before 7pm because that's when I notice my PCOS symptoms are most at bay. Over the weekend I got so upset & frustrated because it was after 7 when I ate & I turned into a monster over it!
  • Perfect doesn\\u2019t exist. PROGRESS ALWAYS WINS. STRIVE FOR BETTER NOT PERFECT.
  • Maybe you had a few extra drinks over thanksgiving or ate some stuff you\\u2019ve been avoiding.\\xa0 Maybe you skipped a workout.
  • Whatever it is for YOU, we ALL go through it. The feeling of DAMN, I \\u201cSHOULD\\u2019VE\\u201d done this or I \\u201cSHOULDN'T\\u201d have done that!\\u2063
  • Maybe it\\u2019s TRUE you made CHOICES that weren\\u2019t EXACTLY in line with your health & hormone goals.\\u2063
  • BUT that doesn\\u2019t mean YOU SUCK & need to feel GUILTY about it! It means you have an OPPORTUNITY to GROW & get BETTER!\\u2063
  • If you hold yourself to an EXPECTATION that\\u2019s UNATTAINABLE, you\\u2019ll NEVER be PROUD of yourself for the SMALL GAINS that turn into BIG GAINS that you\\u2019re doing OVERALL.\\u2063
  • We need to look at everything as, am I BETTER than who I was yesterday? Am I taking steps in the RIGHT DIRECTION?\\u2063
  • When you\\u2019re changing your lifestyle it can be OVERWHELMING & if you don\\u2019t look at it as being BETTER than BEFORE, rather than being PERFECT, you\\u2019re missing out on an OPPORTUNITY to feel PROUD of yourself & give yourself the MOMENTUM to KEEP GOING!\\u2063
  • When we CELEBRATE 3 days of lemon water instead of feeling DEFEATED from the 4 days without it, it make us want to keep going!\\u2063
  • Be PROUD of YOURSELF for the changes you ARE MAKING!\\u2063
  • Acknowledge them & it\\u2019ll help you CONTINUE making progress. PROGRESS over PERFECTION. ALWAYS!
  • I\\u2019m not saying to not hold yourself to a high standard and take care of yourself. BUT beating yourself up over it ISN;T DOING ANYTHING.
  • Would you say the things you say to yourself to your friend, sister, daughter? Probably not!
  • We need to treat ourselves & talk to ourselves internally like we would to the little girl inside of us
  • You\\u2019re not a piece of shit because you didnt 100% stick to something. You made a choice. That doesn\\u2019t make you a failure.
  • Do we always want to be getting better & making the best choices we can? Of course. But not at the cost of our mental well being.\\xa0
