Establishing our Area of Operations

Published: Aug. 9, 2021, 9 a.m.

Flying our Blackhawks in and around Baghdad is a lot more complicated then just getting in a bird and going. We were flying way more than we ever thought we would or could. The Army actually has restrictions on how many hours you can fly a day, at night and how many days you can work in a row! Plus we had to perform maintenance on the aircraft while never dropping a mission. It was exhausting and chaotic over the first 30 days then we settled into our battle rhythm. The battle rhythm atleast gave us predictability but we are still exhausted. Tune in for details of our first 30 days and how we did it! One of the most amazing teams I have ever been a part of.
