This means that we’ll be high on some, well most because we focus on reviewing Oscar films. But every once in awhile, we suffer a huge disappointment. Unfortunately, this was the case with Widows. If you’ve heard any of our previews since last year’s Academy Awards, this was the movie we had been anticipating the most. This was Also Mike’s early pick for best picture, just based on the cast & crew involved. This was a hallmark Mike 1 prediction over the past month that it could be and should be considered as a quote / unquote Oscar movie and shouldn’t be disqualified because of its genre or commercial appeals. So we were shocked when we didn’t love it. Plain and simple. The result is one of our more emotional & admittedly, biased reviews. Though one of us didn’t dislike the film as much as the other, it still fell short of expectations, and who knows, maybe you’ll see the film differently and if you’re reading these show notes, maybe our show will set your expectations much much lower than ours were so that you’ll be more forgivable. In any event, we love to love movies. We just didn’t love this one. There are many more films on our 2018/19 Oscar Sprint Profile playlist, 23 other movies in fact. Like I wrote earlier, most of those will land on the positive end and exist as movie appreciation podcasts. Do check out that playlist on Soundcloud, and if you have more commercial taste, especially if you love horror films like we do, then also check out our 12 track playlist of 2017-2018 movie events. All in all, we’ve covered the vast majority of hits & awards contenders released so far this year, and we’ll certainly try and complete that task for you all before the big award shows. Did we get this one all wrong? Did you love Widows? Are we idiots & do you want to tell us exactly why we are idiots? Then please feel free to do so. We are Mike, Mike, and Oscar on Instagram, Facebook, Reddit, and Gmail. We’re at MMandOscar on Twitter, and we’ll be launching our website soon. When reality sucks, when the first snows fall & when winter is come, keep watching those movies with us. We’re Mike, Mike, and Oscar!
