We said it shouldn’t be done. But we’re glad we accomplished this 3 movie review all in 1 single episode. It’s our 14th installment in this joyous Pixar re-watch, the show on Cars 1, 2, & 3. After some rapid fire specs on all three films, where you’ll be shocked by the insane toy and merchandising profits, Mike 1 does his impersonation of Woodward & Bernstein. I mean, it’s basically the same thing as we not only go behind the scenes, but into the corporate boardrooms and chronicle all of the Macchiavellian politics that led to one CEO’s downfall and the other’s meteoric rise to power. Then we attack the films in a shorthand version of what we normally do in these Pixar Series re-watches. The first half is non-spoilers, and we have a spoiler warning before we dive into the plots one by one. Do see the above time stamps if you’re worried about spoilers. Though we’ll be honest, if you’re worried about spoilers for Cars movies, you may have a problem. Our spoiler sections feature 3 more rules of Pixar’s 22 Rules of Storytelling. We apply them to these and other Pixar films, and we also talk about what genres fit this Cars universe best. Look, some of these plotlines make great sense. Others make us rage like we’ve never raged before in one of these. In fact, we want to see the prequel to these Cars movies, whether it’s called Judgement Day or War for the Planet of the Cars. Whatever the case, it’d be superior to any of these films, and we don’t hesitate to point this out and examine it. What’d you think? Are we wrong? Tell us. We have a thick skin, and we love to enjoy some friendly debates on these or any of the many movies we review. We’re at MMandOscar on Twitter, and we are on Instagram, Facebook, Reddit, and Gmail.
