It’s our immediate knee-jerk reactions to the broadcast, to the winners, to all the fun that was this year’s 90th Academy Awards. We’ll do a Hollywood Hot Takes episode later in the week where we’ll discuss some more of the fallout. But we thought it was essential to get the MMO faithful, such the wonderful group of listeners that you are, a podcast out the morning after the Oscars. The format is simple. We took the awards from the end of the show toward the beginning and gave you a recap and our immediate reactions. So we begin with Best Picture and work backwards all the way to our thoughts on Jimmy Kimmel’s monologue. Find out which of the Mikes won the Oscar Pool. Listen to us riff on the moments we loved and yes, hated from the big night. There was a lot of both, if we’re honest, and as always, that’s what we try to be with you all, giving you our unfiltered opinions, wherever they may land. Do let us know your thoughts. We’re on Gmail, Reddit, Twitter, and Instagram. Our website is under construction and look forward to that. Of course, we love to chat about movies with you, and thank you to those who mixed it up on Twitter with us on Oscar Night. Do stay tuned for the Mike, Mike, and Oscars, which will be the second (and maybe third) part(s) of our 2017 Year in Review series. We released our Superlatives pod, which was a boatload of fun for us to record BTW. Don’t miss that one, and of course, go back and listen to our previous episodes. Knowing what we all know now, we think there’s a whole new listening experience for you all with those episodes. Plus, there’s a ton of great production history, cast & crew bios, and certainly, a ton of film appreciation and criticism that’ll be relevant and listenable for you year round. Let us help you plan for your next movie night as you watch all the Oscar winning films you may have missed. Thanks for listening, and as always, remember our slogan. When reality sucks, watch movies with us. We’re Mike, Mike, and Oscar!
