So if you remember those, we go category by wonderful category, citing stats & trends, yelling about snubs & surprises, and zeroing in upon the likely Oscar noms. (If you’ll permit me on stupid pun,) The race is kicking into high gear! Although over a dozen organizations released nominations or winners, we did decide to focus on the more pressing sets for the upcoming Oscar Race. Of course, that means focusing on the SAG’s, Globes, and Critics Choice. But we also referenced the NY Online & LA Film Critics + European Film Awards, and there were new noms from guilds in the production design, costume design, and editing categories. Who landed noms all over, & what are the surest bets? Which snubs can still mount campaigns, & whose dreams will have to wait at least another year? We break down each category, talk about some recent and ancient history, and of course, we can’t help but get hyped about everything we loved & hated about this huge week of nominations. You can also listen to our Oscar Sprint Profile movie reviews covering all of the eventual Academy Award nominees.
