But after we all watched Rebecca and started to chat about it online, it became abundantly clear that we needed to turn on the microphones. So we were rejoined by Amanda from Swell Entertainment to have at this one. Now the novel is beloved the world over, the original won Best Picture, and if we’re honest, - the trailers, posters, cast & crew all had us hyped, primed and ready. HOWEVER, the film is complete with contemptible characters, nonsensical plot twists, and disappointments around every corner. So much potential for greatness went so very wrong, and although most of our Oscar podcasting lives is spent reviewing and celebrating Oscar level films, we couldn’t ignore 2020’s Rebecca.
