Inside jokes get started in this one. ***This is a Non-Spoiler Episode*** Though again, there’s a veiled reference to Hereditary, & you can eventually follow the breadcrumbs to some spoilers. The next, we’re asking deep questions, and in between all that, we’re dissecting all the latest award season winners and noms. So it’s pretty much just another episode of MMO, right? Well yes, but we also haven’t had this many Oscar Race developments in such a short amount of time yet this season. Therefore, we’re devoting several pods this week to the race, and we’ll be back with our usual formats, our MMOW’s and OSP’s as we finish out the week. The BAFTA’s & Critics Choice episode will be next. In the meantime, here’s our massive recap of all the Guild noms and Globes fallout. We do begin where we last left off on MMO. The Golden Globes shook up awards season, and there’s just too much fallout to ignore. There could be a major backlash coming BoRhap’s way, if we and our best friend we’ve never met, Scott Feinberg of The Hollywood Reporter have this story pegged. Then we dive into the Elsie Fisher Tweet-pocalypse on Sunday night and all the major questions that arose from such a firestorm, and we finish with an analysis of the Golden Globes TV ratings. The Guilds have spoken now, and we rundown all of the major nominees, compare them to the Oscar favorites, and update the race accordingly. Which guilds seem to translate to the eventual Academy picks? Which guilds do not have much of a historic connection to Oscar winners? Were you aware of all these documentaries getting nominations as we were not? We break it all down and hope for your feedback in this segment. We finish up with a look at the long term awards season schedule. So stay tuned as we’ll have that Critics Choice Preview / BAFTA nomination reaction episode coming to you all next. Then we’ll continue our Oscar Sprint Profile series as we aim to review all of the major contenders. We are nearing forty 2018 films covered on the year, and of course, we’ll have reactions to all the big award shows to come. The Golden Globes officially kicked off the start of the red carpets, and we’re wearing our tuxes on our logo. As Mike 1 said at the top of the show, it’s race time. As always, let us know what you think. We’re Mike, Mike, and Oscar on Instagram, Reddit, Facebook, and Gmail.
